Role summary
Responsible for ensuring the integrity of all accounting records, from the initial transaction level up to the fully integrated Annual and Quarterly Financial Report, in compliance with GAAP and related regulatory requirements. Provides direction to the financial reporting and other sub-functions of accounting. Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the company’s chart of accounts and for the accounting information systems necessary to support them. Establishes policies relative to such items as accounting controls, revenue recognition, risk management, assets reporting, and related matters. Directs the management of such important issues as the maintenance of the general ledger and other ledgers, coordination of financial statements, preparation of the annual report, manage accounts payables and accounts receivables, bank reconciliations, processing of payroll, and oversight over all financial transactions. Requires a seasoned and independent executive with an accounting or finance degree and professional qualification, and public accounting firm experience and a comprehensive understanding of the reporting and other requirements of regulations and statutes such as Sarbanes-Oxley, Patriot Act, and others, as well as financial exchange regulations.
