Role summary
Manages, directs, or supervises staff and projects to meet the development needs of an assigned client group to develop server functionality which is indirectly accessed through a front-end website or application. Manages development of back-end server-side, database components, and API’s. Directly involved in meeting with client management, project planning, and selecting and balancing internal and external staffing resources based on the skills required in the project. Provides technical direction, at an operation level to determine standards, and with defining operational schedules for the specific array of projects. Fully conversant with web development concepts and methodologies and back-end web development languages (PHP, SQL, .NET, Python, C, Ruby) and methods. Typically requires a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology. Requires experience with back-end development concepts, policies and practices required to deliver projects on time and at the required standard.
