Role summary
Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer, is responsible for the development of an information technology strategy, based on the current and future overall strategic objectives of the organization. May develop the business case for the adoption of significant new technologies for review by the organization’s executive leadership and or the Board. Leverages expertise in IT architecture and technology to identify emerging trends and concepts that could enhance the competitiveness and effectiveness of the organization, overall. Provides leadership and guidance in relation to technology and infrastructure evaluation, planning, implementation and technical resource deployment. Determines the appropriate balance between externally sourced hardware and software versus internally developed technical solutions. Works closely with critical vendors to understand their capacities, products and services, costs, and applicability to the organization. Responsible for overseeing the development of appropriate technology standards and governance policies and practices and their dissemination in the entire organization. This is a single incumbent position.
