Role summary
Supports the vendor management function by conducting in-depth evaluations of vendors, both before and after contract negotiations to ensure that the organization obtains the expected return for its investment in vendor contracts. May develop detailed RFPs for specific services or products and invite vendors to respond with proposals. Reviews proposals for compliance with the RFP requirements and may request supplemental information where required. May also evaluate the financial, operational, and performance reputation of the vendor to ensure that they will make a suitable partner for the organization. May monitor the post contract performance of the vendor relative to product or service delivery and performance and may make recommendations to management for changes. May review vendor invoices relative to their compliance with agreed contract terms prior to their release for payment. Maintains active relationships with designated points of contact in key IT vendors to discuss and resolve issues relative to the supply of goods and services. Typically requires a degree in Computer Science or an Administrative discipline such as accounting or finance and progressive IT procurement and vendor negotiation experience.
